3D Models reflecting our project idea

This is a basic models of what the initial idea should look like. The water fountains in the background are representing the water level of each of the dams and are coloured according to the percentage of the dam. The screen in the foreground is the touch screen where the users can interact with the information about the dams. More angles of this model have been made but for illustration purposes I will only post this one.
Another model of a re-done and more 'artistic' or aetheticly pleasing version is in the process of being made. I will post again when i can and hopefully have an updated image of the newer version.

Third Group Meeting

Today was our third and final "offical" group meeting before the assignemnt is due. We covered all the things that needed to be covered for all of us to go our seperate ways and do the assignment. We split the assignemnt up thoughtout the group so we all had equal amouts of work to do and then come together and colloborate on friday afternoon. We have also now got Tim Cooper in our group who brings some extra skills to benifit our group.
I have also done up some 3d models showing a basic design of what our projects should look like. After today I will be working on some other 3d models of potential desigs that we think would be cool.

Second Group Meeting

Lecture this week introduced the Proposal for our porject ideas so we focussed on this for out group meeting. We feel that in the proposal we need to cover all aspects of this project including materials, programs, information and equipment etc.
Todays meeting we focussed majority on how to make our project more interactive. We basically came up with showing inforation about all of the dams and making interacitve for the user to view. Also the user can interact with the fountains by showing dam levels in proportions to water useage in percentages. The user could also set up scenarios showing water consumption and related downfalls over dams ect.
We have also decided to focuss on scetches and models before we focuss on our proposal.
We will blog again when there is more information to be blogged on.

First Group Meeting

Sorry about the late post but i rarley get access to the internet right now.
Anyway, last week we had out first group meeting. Our group consists of Dean, Dave and myself.
Our idea is based on the dam levels and representing their level percentages. At the moment we have decided to show the data by water gets spraying water to an appropriate height showing the levels of a dam in percentage form.
We decided that because it is going to be in a art gallery we should make it a bit artistic and creative. I suggested that the levels of the water also be represented by colour LED lights under the water gets, changing the colour of the water depending on the height of the water get. So green would be roughly 100-80%, 70-50% would be yellow, 50-30% would be orange and 30-0% would be red. Thses are just ideas, the colours and percentages may change.
So we finished the meeting by saying that we should all consider ideas to make the project interactive for the user.
So ill blog again later when we have had the meeting.

Graffiti Board

Graffiti Board: Ben Bradford

Aimed at a youth audience, the graffiti board is a “graffiti simulator”. By projecting an image of a dirty urban concrete wall onto a surface, the user can use the spray can controller to write graffiti on the wall. The user can also have the ability to change the colours of the graffiti.

This porject uses a high powered projector with a laser pointer. The laser pointer is tracked and thits position is marked on the building it is projected and drawn on.

::PROJECT LIMITATIONS::

+
This would require quite a large space
+ Interface / menus
+ Equipment, software, Technology availability

Custom Landscape

Custom Landscape: Ben Bradford

A landscape consisting of 3 choices, mountains, ocean, or trees is displayed on a screen. The user can interact with the image by adjusting the position of the sun, and time of day. They can also change the amount of clouds, wind speed and the colour of the sunset and sunrise. The custom landscape is aimed at the youth and adult audience.

This link is connected to a blog that was created by some colligues and myself last year fro studio 4 where we created an interactive weather simulation that follows the same pronciples as the Custom Landscape. Instead of having control over everything to do witht he weather, the weather room allowed the user to move the sun turning it to night and create a storm by moving clouds together.

::PROJECT CONSTRAINTS::

+
Conflict between previous assignment
+ Heavy Programming leading to more problems
+ No/Little Help Guides
+ Size of project to achieve desired result

Voice Morph

Voice Morph: Ben Bradford

Aimed at all ages. An image of a specific person (male, female or child) or thing (robot, computer, animal) is displayed on the screen. The user selects a specific image and is asked to speak. When the user speaks, a microphone picks the voice up and changes it according to the image that the user selected.

::RELATED PTOJECTS::

The AV Voice Changer is a Voice manipulation program that can be used to change the users voice by using graphic equlising and noise reduction (to mention a few) the program also has the ability to convert the users voice into a preset sound. This feature is what the Voice Morph is about.

http://www.programurl.com/av-vcs-gold.htm

AV VCS Glod is a program that can be speciffically used to change the users voice into a saved setting including, male, female, teen, and child. These features are what the Voice Morph wants to make available.

http://www.programurl.com/av-voice-changer.htm

AV Voice Changer, like the above programs, is a realtime voice manipulations prgram that can manipulate the users voice into precet setting s and customisation over a graphic equaliser.

::PROJECT CONSTRAINTS::

+
Interaction between interface and manipulation program.
+ Using touch screen for interaction
+ Limited user interaction
+ User Interest
+ Interface Athetics

Snowing Image

Snowing Image: Ben Bradford

The snowing image is an interactive artwork that is aimed at all ages. The snowing image is a live feed of people that walk in front of the hidden camera. It is then placed on top landscape where a “snow” style particle system falls from the top of the image and rests on the still objects projected from the camera.

Interactive Face Morph

Interactive Face Morph: Ben Bradford

Aimed at all ages the interactive face morph is a frame that takes a photo of the users face from a (preferably) hidden camera. The user can then select different “morph” types from a side menu on the screen and touch areas of the face to morph.

This program incorporates the basic idea of distortion or face manipulation. Although it is not designed for face morphing, the basic concepts of feature manipulation is relevant to the Interactive face morph.
